Grants can supply funds for resources that the College cannot provide. You can use external funds to expand a project or to start a new one.
Grant funds do not replace existing funds. Rather, they supplement operating budgets by funding additional staff, equipment, and/or academic or student support services.
As you look for funding, remember that some opportunities to submit a grant proposal occur only once or twice, while others open on a cyclical basis—annually, bi-annually, or even three to five years apart.
When You Should Start
Contact us as soon as you are aware of a funding need, even if you will not use the funds for a year or two.
Developing a fundable application takes time. If your deadline is fast approaching, we may advise you to wait until the next funding cycle.
What to Expect
Some awards are made within several weeks to several months after an application is submitted; however, it is not uncommon for awards to be announced six months to a year after the application deadline.
