If you are able to obtain health insurance other than through the College (e.g., through spouse or other arrangement) you may waive your coverage and receive a stipend that would be paid out to you as taxable income over the course of the plan year or placed in an Supplemental Retirement Annuity (SRA).
If you are currently enrolled in the College’s health insurance and decide to waive your coverage, this change in benefits can only be conducted during the benefits Open Enrollment period. You will need to complete the benefit waiver form and also provide a letter from the employer through whom you are receiving coverage.
PLEASE NOTE: In cases where two family members are employed in full time benefits-eligible positions, they are not eligible to receive the waiver.
