Jason M. Van Hine of Steelton knows the ins and outs of the four-year apprentice program in which HACC is affiliated with the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) of Mechanicsburg.
First, he was a student/apprentice. Now, he is a HACC adjunct instructor for the classroom portion of the program. Van Hine also is a field manager for Orbit Technologies Inc. of York, which specializes in design and installation of electrical and communication systems. He owes his success to HACC classroom instructors who share a “vast pool of practical knowledge” with students and to the sponsorship of the IEC with its on-the-job training.
