Tech(nical) Prep(aration) is a program built around a sequence of academic and technical courses that put a student on a career pathway to the world of work. Tech Prep programs are often anchored at a technical high school and lead to an Associates in Arts Degree in a career program at HACC.
How Tech Prep works:
-
HACC works with area high schools or technical schools to align technical high school programs and academic courses with HACC career programs.
-
A scope and sequence of academic and technical courses is identified for the high school student to follow from the high school program through the HACC associate’s degree program
-
Where possible, HACC awards articulated credit or dual enrollment credit through College in the High School for entry-level courses.
-
The high school student follows the scope and sequence through high school and seamlessly to the HACC associate’s degree program.
Why should you participate in Tech Prep?
