FERPA - Federal Education Rights to Privacy of 1974
Under
FERPA, the Office of Financial Aid Services is required to protect the privacy of your financial aid information. Records created and maintained by our office are considered to be education records and may not be disclosed without your written consent.
You must complete the Authorization to Release Information form when you want us to disclose your financial aid information to your parent(s) regardless of your dependency status, your spouse if you are married, another individual/relative, or to a third party agency. This form is available from the Office of Financial Aid Services, Admissions, Student Accounts and Registration.
In addition, when we are returning your phone call and have to leave a voice mail message, we will not discuss information that would be considered confidential since we do not know who will be listening to your messages. Therefore, we will leave a generic message providing our name, what department we work in at HACC, our telephone number, and for you to return our call.
