Students should send messages from the HAWKMail account.

Students should check their HAWKMail accounts frequently because the Office of Financial Aid Services communicates important
messages to students using HAWKMail.
Remember to file the FAFSA for the 2013-2014 academic year by April 15, 2013!
We recommend that you (and your parents if applicable) use the IRS Data Retrieval tool when filing the FAFSA at
www.fafsa.gov. If you are eligible to use it, you will be able to automatically retrieve your tax information from the IRS to answer the tax questions on your FAFSA.
Keep in mind that you should file your federal tax return electronically, and then wait two weeks to file the FAFSA.
Why use the IRS Data Retrieval? This will cause fewer errors and will decrease the chance of your FAFSA being selected for review by the federal processor.

THINKING OF WITHDRAWING FROM A CLASS?
If you receive financial aid and withdraw from or stop attending classes before the term is over, HACC may be required to send back
part or all of your financial aid funds to federal or state agencies. This results in you owing money back to HACC.
Owing a bill to HACC has many consequences including holds being placed preventing you from registering for future classes.
Be aware withdrawing can also affect your Satisfactory Academic Progress which may impact future financial aid.
Contact the Financial Aid Office immediately if you are considering withdrawing or stopping attendance to discuss potential consequences.
Some of your general financial aid questions may be answered by going to the main
Financial Aid page.
