Early Admission
The Early Admission program enables qualified high school juniors and seniors to enroll in and take college credit courses at HACC-Gettysburg Campus or at one of our off-site locations under the College's Early Admission policy. Early Admission students earn concurrent high school and college credits. Course offerings are suggested and approved by HACC with an emphasis on those courses having the maximum transferability to post-secondary institutions. Courses are taught by HACC faculty members and will consist of Early Admission students and traditional HACC college students. Courses are offered to high school juniors and seniors at the prevailing college tuition rate.
What are the benefits of Early Admission?
Participating in an early admission program, students can earn college credit while they are in high school, allowing students to jump start their college career without having to leave home. Students will experience the college setting, therefore easing the transition from high school to college. Students will also learn to manage their time as they become familiar with the format of a college class. Earning college credits and being in a college setting may help undecided students develop their plans following high school. Credits can be transferred to many four year colleges and universities, allowing students to save time and money by getting a head start with their college experience.
Who is eligible for HACC's Early Admission Program?
Students must be recommended by their high school counselor and principal, maintain a 3.0 GPA or "B" average, and place into college level courses in accordance with HACC's placement testing program.
