HACC's College Advantage Program is a concurrent enrollment program through which qualified high school juniors and seniors may receive high school and college credit simultaneously. HACC's College Advantage program enables qualified high school juniors and seniors to enroll in and take college credit courses at the Lancaster Campus-HACC or at one of our off site locations. College Advantage students can earn concurrent high school and college credit. Course offerings are suggested and approved by HACC with an emphasis on those courses having maximum transferability to post-secondary institutions. Courses are taught by HACC faculty members and will consist of College Advantage students and traditional HACC college students. Courses are offered to high school juniors and seniors at the prevailing college tuition rate.
What are the benefits of College Advantage?
Students earn college credit while they are in high school allowing students to jump start their college career. Students will experience the college setting, therefore easing the transition from high school to college. Students will also learn how to manage their time as they become familiar with the format of a college class. Earning college credits and being in a college setting may help undecided students develop their plans following high school. Credits can be transferred to many four year college and universities, allowing students to save time and money by getting a head start with their college experience.
Who is eligible for HACC's College Advantage Program?
Students must be recommended by their high school and meet course prerequisites in accordance with HACC's placement testing program.
