The D&E Learning Center provides tutoring and academic skills development at no cost to full and part time HACC students. Located at the rear of the Library in MAIN 232, the Learning Center is staffed with trained peer and professional tutors who know how to help you succeed. During the spring and fall semesters, tutoring for a variety of courses is offered Monday through Friday, mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Weekend hours may be available. Tutoring is also available Monday through Thursday during the summer semester. Stop by the Learning Center to check the current tutoring schedule.
The Learning Center commonly offers tutoring in the following courses:
- basic math
- English and ESL
- chemistry
- algebra (all levels)
- writing (for all subjects
- accounting
- economics
- psychology
- biology (including A&P)
- statistics
- calculus
- computer literacy
- principles of math
- sociology
Additional Resources: Throughout the semester, the D&E Learning Center offers a variety of workshops aimed at helping students develop academic survival skills. Additionally, the Learning Center has numerous software packages available for students to use at their convenience. Students can practice their skills with several mathematics and algebra, grammar and writing, accounting, and human anatomy programs. The Learning Center also has an array of informational handouts to assist students with learning skills, including such topics as note-taking, time management, study tips, and test preparation.
