Guest students are students currently enrolled and in good standing at another College or University and taking courses at HACC to fulfill the home institution's degree requirements.

Before you can begin classes, there are several important steps you must complete:

Meet with your advisor at your home College or University to select the courses that you plan to take at HACC. Obtain written approval (see Guest Student Course Approval Form in pdf format) from your home College or University if scheduling courses which require prerequisites or placement testing. If you have questions about completing this form, please contact the Admissions Office at the campus you plan to attend.

Apply for Admission to HACC. Apply Online or use our Printable Application for Admission (pdf)

If required and you plan to register online, submit the form to the HACC location that you plan to attend at least two business days in advance of attempting to register online via HACCWeb. If you plan to register by mail, fax or in-person, submit the form along with your official enrollment/registration form to the HACC location that you plan to attend. (See Campus Location information below) You can verify that approval has been granted by logging onto HACCWeb, selecting Student Services, Registration, and then Check My Registration Status. The Guest Student Course Approval Form (pdf) must be submitted prior to registration.

If you live in one of HACC's 22 sponsoring school districts in Cumberland, Dauphin or Perry counties, you may be eligible for the lowest tuition rate. Contact your local school district office to request a current Certificate of Residency.

Register for classes and pay tuition and fees. For registration and payment deadlines, please visit Registration Dates under the Registrar section.. Register early for best course selection.

Obtain your Photo ID and Parking Permit from the Safety & Security Office at the campus you plan to attend. Bring your schedule, driver's license, and proof of vehicle registration.

Purchase books at your campus Bookstore. Books will be on sale approximately two weeks prior to the start of each semester/session. Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Virtual Campus students can purchase books online via bookstore.hacc.edu.

Request your official HACC transcripts to be sent back to your home college or university. Transcript request forms can be obtained through the Records Office or online at HACCWeb.

PLEASE NOTE: Guest students are generally not eligible for financial aid through HACC. However, to determine if you are eligible for financial aid through your home institution, contact your home institution and request that a Consortium Agreement be processed. A Consortium Agreement is a contract between two colleges that helps to determine financial aid eligibility while ensuring that any financial aid is processed through the home institution.

• The approval is not intended nor does it substitute as transfer course approval from your home institution.
• Consult with the Registrar at your home institution to assure credit transferability.
