HACC is changing its refund disbursement method to an all electronic format effective December 1, 2009. The check option will not be available to new students registering for terms beginning after 12/1/09 or to current students that did not select a refund preference by 12/1/09. Students having selected the check option before December 1, 2009 will be permitted to receive future refunds via the check disbursement method.  HACC is encouraging electronic refund disbursement, if you change your current paper check refund option to an electronic option after 12/1 you will not be permitted to change back to paper check.

HACC has partnered with Higher One, a financial services company, to provide a method of refund disbursement to the college.   Higher One will be handling all refunds for HACC credit students. As a HACC credit student you must activate your preference to receive a refund through the Higher One account. You then will be given the option to have your financial aid and tuition refunds disbursed via the HACC Debit Card, an electronic transfer (ACH) to an existing bank account of your choosing or through a paper check (available until 11/30/09).  We are very excited about this opportunity to provide students with new, faster choices on how they want to receive their refund.

When you receive your official student refund card, the HACC Debit Card, in the mail, activate your refund preference within two business days at HACC Debit Card. It is easy!

Even if you do not anticipate a tuition or financial aid refund, activation is required. Do not throw your card away!
