HACC has been offering courses through Distance Learning since the fall of 1987. In the fall of 1987, five videocourses were offered, with an enrollment of 92 students.
In the spring of 1999, Distance Learning delivery of courses expanded to include courses offered via the internet (online courses). In the spring of 1999, six online courses were offered, with an enrollment of 120 students.
In 2002 the College committed to the development of a “virtual campus” as a natural evolution of its Distance Learning program. Dr. Edna Baehre, HACC’s President, presented the challenge of planning for a virtual campus in her Fall 2002 Convocation address.
The Virtual Campus opened for business officially on July 1, 2004.
