THIS INFORMATION IS INTENDED
FOR STUDENTS REGISTERED IN
MATH COURSES HOSTED IN MYMATHLAB
Please print off and read this entire course information packet carefully, then follow the instructions provided. This packet contains the information you will need to login to your math course.
Your math course is being hosted in CourseCompass (also known as MyMathLab). Make sure that you are ready to start this course by completing Steps 1 and 2 below:
Step 1: Your computer must meet the following requirements for operating systems, connection speed, and browser versions. Check your computer system against the following minimum system requirements at www.mymathlab.com/system.html .
Step 2: Purchase your NEW textbook packaged with a free course access code from the College bookstore on-campus or online at http://bookstore.hacc.edu . You will need to know your course CRN when obtaining your text. (Note: If you purchase a used textbook at the College bookstore, or obtain your textbook from another source, you will need to purchase a separate course access code at a cost of approximately $75. You can purchase the access code at www.mymathlab.com/buying.html.)
COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS ONCE YOUR COURSE IS SCHEDULED TO START
(Important: You won't be able to add your course or access your course materials prior to the published course start date.)
Step 3: Follow the steps below to set up your account and access your course:
Register and Enroll in a Course
To get into your CourseCompass course, you must complete an easy, one-time registration and enrollment process.
Before you start, you will need:
" a Course ID from your instructor. (If you are taking an online course, the Course ID can be found on the course syllabus posted on the course information page for your course. To access your course information page, go to www.hacc.edu/virtual and enter your CRN in the Get Class/Login Info box. Click Find. A link to your syllabus can be located under the Course Requirements section. If the syllabus is not available, or does not list a Course ID, you should contact your instructor. Your instructor's contact information is listed on your course information page.)
" a student access code (included in your new textbook or available for purchase online with a credit card and your instructor's course ID.)
" your Hawkmail address (HACC student email). It is important that you check this on a regular basis - you will use this throughout the entire semester
To register, or purchase a student acces code, and enroll in your instructor's CourseCompass course:
1. Go to www.coursecompass.com, and click the Register button for students.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions and enter your instructor's course ID.
3. Enter the enrollment options: Access Code or 'Buy Now'.
4. Provide contact information and create a login name and password. (Write this information down!)
5. You will need to know HACC's zip code which is 17110.
6. Follow instructions to download and install all plug-ins that are needed to access the CourseCompass website.
After you have registered and enrolled, you are ready to login to your course.
Note: You won't be able to access your course until the published start date for your course.
Get Into Your Course
To Log in and access your course:
1. Go to www.coursecompass.com and click the Log In button button for students.
2. Enter the login name and password you created during registration.
3. From the My CourseCompass page, simply click the name of your instructor's course to begin exploring all the features and resources in CourseCompass!
4. Check out the menu items, including Announcements, Communication, and Assignments. Click on Course Home or Course Document to access all the resources.
5. Very Important!! Once you have entered the course, read the announcement about the MyMathLab Installation Wizard. Follow the instructions to detect and install all the software (plug-ins) necessary for the program to work correctly.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS
Log in to your course as soon as the course is scheduled to start; participate regularly in class discussions; check your email; read your course textbook and content materials; submit your assignments; and take your exams on time. Contact your instructor immediately if you have questions concerning course content or experience any technical problems with the course.
