What is a CRN?

Each class offering of any course has its own unique identification number.

This is referred to as the CRN (or Course Reference Number). Typically, the CRN consists of 5 digits for Spring or Fall semesters and 4 digits for summer semesters.

For example, you might register for a fall section of an online Accounting 101 course which has a CRN of 20001.

An important part of your experience and education at HACC is your involvement and participation in numerous student activities, events, and programs. Online and on-campus opportunities allow you to seek out new adventures, give back to your community, participate in HACC governance, and make life-long friends!

All students taking online courses are members of the Virtual Campus online student community. This community provides you with a “voice” – you can connect with other students, seek and receive advisement, and participate in HACC governance. All of this is available at your fingertips! Face-to-face activities, such as Virtual Campus student-sponsored bus trips, are also available to you.
