What is a CRN?

Each class offering of any course has its own unique identification number.

This is referred to as the CRN (or Course Reference Number). Typically, the CRN consists of 5 digits for Spring or Fall semesters and 4 digits for summer semesters.

For example, you might register for a fall section of an online Accounting 101 course which has a CRN of 20001.

I've installed the latest version of Java on my computer, and I'm still receiving Java errors.
What do I do?

If you have Java 5 Update 6 (aka Java 2 version 1.5.0.6), that may be the problem. Also, we have found multiple versions of Sun Java on a system will cause lots of "hard to reproduce" problems. One recommendation is to downgrade to a single slightly earlier version of Java. Sometimes, even when you have the correct version of Java on your system, the best way to fix problems, especially browser crashes, is to re-install the Java.

1. Click on your computers Start menu.

The Start menu of a windows based system.

2. Click on Control Panel.

3. Click on Add or Remove Programs.

4. Click on the version(s) of JAVA that you would like to remove.

5. Click on the Remove button.

6. When prompted, restart your computer.
