The Virtual Campus came into existence in July of 2004, as an extension of the college’s successful distance learning program. HACC's Virtual Campus offers a wide range of courses and services to meet the educational needs of a rapidly growing number of students who are challenged by distance, time, and financial* constraints.
Mission
The Virtual Campus has the overall mission of “... a complete, high quality educational experience that faculty and students would rate as exceptional and that other institutions would seek to model.” Virtual Campus Planning Task Force, October 2003
Programs and Services
We have over 150 different online courses in a wide variety of subjects. In addition, we offer academic programs and online student support services, including advising, library resources, career exploration, and tutoring. As a Virtual Campus student, you will have access to an online student community and are encouraged to participate in student government. Student support services are also available at any of HACC’s physical locations.
Flexible Scheduling
Our online courses offer you a convenient way to achieve your educational goals. You may develop a course schedule consisting entirely of online courses or a combination of online, on-campus, and/or blended (hybrid) courses. Note: On-campus and blended courses are offered at HACC’s physical locations.
* - If you are receiving state grant funding, there are restrictions on the percentage of courses you may take online. See the Financial Aid section of the main HACC website for more information.
