TYP is dedicated to providing high quality and compelling children's theatre to area children through its Outreach Program. Since 1991, more than 24,000 young people from the Central Pennsylvania region have visited our state-of-the-art facilities and experienced TYP productions. Special performance times are reserved for school districts to attend our performances with reduced price ticketing. Teachers are provided with an educational packet containing the background of the play, as well as various tools and lesson plans to help their students better absorb, comprehend and respond to this total theatre event. Following each Outreach Program, audiences are invited to participate in our highly popular talk-back session with the director, cast and crew.

TYP has earned the reputation of mounting exceptional and professionally produced plays written by award winning playwrights. Titles have included classic fare, as well as themes that draw from a variety of cultures, while often challenging our audiences to broaden their understanding of the world.

The Nightingale
A participatory play by Rita Grauer and John Urquhart.
A humorous participatory play, based on the classic fairy tale of Hans Christian Anderson. The Nightingale is not only a good vehicle for multicultural studies of China, but also teaches a wonderful lesson about the glamor of materialism.

Public performance Saturday, April 28, 2pm. All tickets $10. Not recommended for under age 5 yrs.
