World Styles Of Puppetry
Puppetry as an art form is enormously popular in non-American
societies. Students in this hands-on class will explore Asian,
African, and European styles of puppetry which go beyond the usual
finger and hand styles commonly introduced in our schools. Each
day, students will focus upon a different country and construct
a puppet out of found materials to take home. Characterization
and voice manipulation will be explored, which is highly useful
for those students interested in acting. Tuition includes cost
of materials, which are provided.
