“HACC has awesome professors. Professors that know who you are, know that you’re a busy person, and they work with you."

Diwash Dahal, a dual enrollment student, says HACC helped him learn how to balance his high school classes with his college coursework. Plus, he said what he’s learned has “made me such a mature person. It makes me think outside the box now.”
Diwash also appreciates HACC’s flexible, understanding professors. “HACC has awesome professors. Professors that know who you are, know that you’re a busy person, and they work with you,” he said. “As a dual enrollment student, it’s been rare that professors don’t understand that I have high school work and then college work to do. They work with me.”
Regarding challenges, Diwash initially needed help with his time-management skills and not overscheduling himself. “As a dual enrollment student there are many challenges, one is time management and don’t overwhelm yourself. When I first started, I did four classes [at HACC] and five classes in high school,” he said, reflecting that this course load was too much, but HACC helped him adapt. “You get to slowly improve yourself and build those skills up. Then you know what you’re doing, and you can have a social life, too.”
After HACC, Diwash’s goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer networking and technology because “I love technology, and technology is the future!”
