Meet Jennifer: Alumna Returns to HACC to Educate Students

“I am thankful that I am able to give back to so many students and hopefully make a positive impact on their lives.”

From HACC student to alumna to employee, Jennifer Kyle is grateful for the College and the opportunity to help educate the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Jennifer chose HACC for many reasons, including proximity, reputation and affordability. “The Radiologic Technology Program had a good reputation, meaning that I felt I would receive a quality education, be able to pass the registry exam and find employment upon completion,” she said.

“The class sizes were small in comparison to another college I had previously been to, and I no longer felt like a number or a face in a crowd,” Jennifer added. “It was evident that the HACC instructors cared about their students and wanted them to be successful.”

After graduating in 2009, Jennifer completed the Computed Tomography course in 2013. She spent a few years working as a registered computed tomography technologist before returning to HACC. Now, she helps students as the director of clinical education for HACC’s Radiologic Technology Program.

“I oversee the students’ clinical education, visit clinical sites, check on student progress and coordinate the clinical program with didactic instruction,” Jennifer said. “I design and develop curriculum for various blended and face-to-face classes as well as record and produce educational videos for online instruction for a ‘flipped’ classroom approach.”

Jennifer, who is also an instructor, loves working with students and helping them become successful. “I am thankful that I am able to give back to so many students and hopefully make a positive impact on their lives,” she said.

“In my particular department, we are impacting the community every day,” she said. “Our students perform clinical rotations at many locations in Central Pennsylvania. They are routinely hired at those locations upon graduation, as well as other hospitals and outpatient centers in the area. You could go to just about any imaging department in Central Pennsylvania and find a graduate from HACC's Radiologic Technology program.”
