“I have always wanted to go to college and HACC was a right fit for me.”
While “the campus was gorgeous,” Mel O’Holleran chose HACC for more reasons than the Harrisburg Campus scenery. It was close to home, offered her desired program, and it was an opportunity to follow in her mom’s footsteps. Her mom is a HACC nursing alumna and Mel decided she wanted to pursue the same career path. Her HACC journey began in August 2019 and she knew HACC was the place for her “from the beautiful landscape and plants to the easy to navigate campus.”
“Whether it’s random people you see walking on the sidewalk or your professors,” her favorite part of HACC is people’s willingness to help.
When asked what she would say to another student who is considering HACC, Mel said, “Definitely come to HACC, you will experience a great environment…”
Mel also knew that HACC offers a similar experience to four-year institutions. She said, HACC “Has the same education level as any other college, same or similar helpful resources, and teachers that are always willing to help.”
After graduating from HACC, she plans to attend Penn State Harrisburg and earn her Bachelor of Science (BSN) in nursing.
