All Programs are FreeSeventh Annual International Heritage Festival at HACCFeatures Zembo Highlanders

Harrisburg Area Community College's seventh annual International Heritage Festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine, on HACC's Wildwood Campus in Harrisburg. Local pipe band, The Zembo Highlanders, will kick off the festival which features music and dance performances, ethnic food and merchandise, and activities for children. In the event of rain, activities will be held inside the Cooper Student Center. All events are free and open to the public.

Visitors will have the opportunity to ethnic food, and traditional American fare. Clothing and gift items representing different heritages will also be available for purchase.

Children of all ages will be able to take part in the Children's Corner from noon to 4:30pm, where activities will highlight a wide range of cultures. At 1pm, The Kids on the Block puppetry will present an interactive performance for children on the topic of peers with disabilities. The puppet group, sponsored by the Arc of Dauphin County and funded by the Dauphin County Mental Health/Retardation Program and The United way of the Capital Region, uses Bunraku-style puppets, developed as an art form in Japan.

Free health screenings/assessments and health-related information will be available to the public.

Visitors are invited to HACC's James Evans Physical Education Center to see the three on three basketball tournament that will take place in the gymnasium from 8am until 5pm.
