Wildwood Campus program earns national awardsHACC Offers Energy Efficiency Workshop

May 3, 2000
A workshop focusing on energy efficiency for small business will be presented by Harrisburg Area Community College on Thursday, May 18, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, in Blocker Hall room 113. The public is invited. HACC is one of 39 Community Energy Efficiency Training Centers (CEETC) in the United States and the only one in Pennsylvania. The training center is organized to promote energy efficiency to public, nonprofit, small business, and industrial organizations throughout central Pennsylvania.

Topics of the workshop will center on HACC's award-winning energy management program. With strategic environmental and economic practices, HACC saves more than $250,000 a year in energy costs. The Wildwood Campus has received national awards for HACC's accomplishments in pollution control and energy savings, including a substantial reduction in the release of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. "This workshop will assist the bottom line for small business, as well as others interested in energy efficiency," says Dr. E. Drannon Buskirk, Jr., HACC adjunct instructor for environmental programs. "We'll be discussing practices that can quickly add up, saving up to 15% in energycosts, and at the same time, be good for the environment."
