Annual Bassmaster University Comes to HACC

Anglers from the novice to the expert who are looking to improve their fishing skills are invited to attend the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) BASSMASTER University 2001 hosted by Harrisburg Area Community College. The two-day event will be held at the Wildwood Campus of HACC on Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4, from 8am to 4pm.

The six featured instructors are nationally renowned bass anglers and include Jimmy Houston, Bill Decoteau, Jeff Snyder, Kevin VanDam, Mike Iaconelli, and Randy Howell.

BASS Fishing techniques cover mainstream techniques such as plastic worms, crankbaits, topwater, unproductive water, flipping and pitching, and spinnerbaits. Discussion will include lesser-known techniques such as fishing the floating worm, finesse fishing, and electronics, as well as advanced techniquesfor catching bass from mid-lake structure and when they suspend.

The cost of the institute is $99 for both days. Spouses and children under age 16 may attend for $50. A sign language interpreter for the hearing impaired will be available.
