HACC-Lebanon Campus Presents Sixth AnnualPennsylvania German Festival

The public is invited to discover the origins and traditions of Pennsylvania German heritage at the sixth annual Pennsylvania German Heritage Festival on Saturday, March 17, from 9am to 4pm at the Lebanon Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College in downtown Lebanon. The free festival will feature demonstrations of Pennsylvania German arts, speakers on Pennsylvania German history; religion, literature, and language; music; activities for children; Pennsylvania German food; and drawings for door prizes.

Speakers and entertainment are scheduled as follows:
9:15am - Dr. Don Yoder - Pennsylvania German Religious Traditions
10:15am - C. Richard Beam - Pennsylvania German Words in Context
11:15am - Dr. Mary Alice Wheeler - Pennsylvania German Literature Round Table
12:30pm - The Schusslers, Droowelmachers and Blue Mountain Boys - Hoedown "Jigging" Music and Dancing
1:30pm - Songs In Pennsylvania German
Zoaf Lutheran Junior Choir
Brittany Pappas
2:00pm - Michael Showalter - The Ephrata Cloister
3:00pm - The Ephrata Cloister Chorus - Music of the Ephrata Cloister and other selections
