HACC Appoints New Trustees, Members Reelected

Two new members have joined the Board of Trustees of Harrisburg Area Community College, along with the reelection of four members.

Ralph I. Dyer, Marysville, is a former school board director for the Susquenita School District and served as chair of the Delegate Finance Committee for HACC. A graduate of Lafayette College with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Dyer is a retired military officer of the United States Army and works as a management consultant for The Dyer Group in Marysville.

John S. Jordan, CAE, Mechanicsburg, was elected last fall to serve as a School Board Director for the Cumberland Valley School District. Jordan is the executive vice president/CEO of the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians, and teaches business administration at Elizabethtown College. Jordan is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), and has another bachelorÕs degree in medical technology and masterÕs degree in health care administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and a masterÕs degree in management information systems from George Washington University

Terms for both new members will run until 2008.

Reelected to HACC's Board of Trustees are Daniel P. Delaney, of Camp Hill; Harlon L. Robinson, of Harrisburg; Toni H. Sharp, of Etters; and Mark A. Whitmoyer, of New Bloomfield.

A former board member for the West Shore School District, Delaney is a member of the law firm Kirkpatrick and Lockhart. Delaney previously served as chief legal advisor for the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Delaney has a bachelor's degree from LaSalle University and a law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.

Harlon Robinson is the assistant secretary of HACC's board of trustees, reelected for another term. Robinson is vice president of human resources and administration for the United Concordia Companies, Inc., part of Highmark, Inc., in Camp Hill. He also is a trustee for the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Robinson has a degree in business administration from Shaw University, in North Carolina, and an MBA, international business, from the University of Bridgeport, in Connecticut.

Toni Sharp is currently a strategic account manager for AT&T. She has served as a school board director for the West Shore School District and represented the school district as a delegate to HACC, served as past president for the Red Mill Elementary School PTO, and worked as a member of the Newberry Township Zoning Hearing Board and chaired the Newberry Township Planning Commission.

Mark Whitmoyer is the assistant treasurer for HACC's board of trustees. He is the owner and manager of Conservation Concepts, Inc., an energy conservation/solar energy firm established in 1980. Whitmoyer has been a member of the West Perry School Board of Directors for 12 years, eight of those years serving as a member of the district's delegate to HACC. He is also active in the Perry County Council of the Arts. Whitmoyer earned a bachelor's degree in community development from Penn State University.
