State Senator Jeffrey Piccola has chosen Harrisburg Area Community College for a new scholarship endowment. Working through the HACC Foundation, Piccola has initiated the Anthony J. Piccola Memorial Scholarship Award in memory of his father.

"Education has been a passion for me," says Piccola. "It's a tribute to my father that will continually be of use to students in financial need."

The endowment will provide assistance for tuition and fees to financially needy students wishing to pursue an education at the Wildwood Campus of HACC. Students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5, with preference given to a graduate of Harrisburg High School within the last three years. Preference may be given to HACC students enrolled in programs at its Community Center for Technology and Arts on Fourth Street in downtown Harrisburg.
