Wildwood Campus
Ashley M. Fisher, Middletown, graduates in July with an associate degree in education. She plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in arts at Millersville University, and would like to become either a mathematics, history, or economics high school teacher. Fisher serves as the public relations secretary for HACC's Alpha Nu Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, serves on the Harrisburg Regional Marketing Team Board, and is president of the Circle K Club (the collegiate level of the Kiwanis International). At the Wildwood Campus she is a member of the Outdoor Club and Environmental Awareness Club. In Middletown, Fisher serves as secretary of the Kiwanis Club and chairs the Annual Middletown Halloween Parade committee. She coaches a girls' softball team, chairs the public relations committee of the Pennsylvania District Kiwanis, and is the Kiwanis Club advisor for the Builders Club, which is the junior high level of Kiwanis International.
Kimberly J. Grundon, Enola, graduates from HACC this summer with an associate's degree in business management and a concentration in computer information systems. She is transferring to Shippensburg University to study for her bachelor's degree in information technology. She hopes to complete a master's degree in information technology and would like to return to HACC to teach at the college level. Grundon chairs the arts committee for the Alpha Nu Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and a tutor. She has participated in a local Math Symposium, the Regional Technology Advisory Council meetings and volunteered during the WITF Public Television membership drive. In addition to these activities, she enjoys being a PIAA certified volleyball referee and a member of the Greater Harrisburg Association for the Deaf.
Gettysburg Campus
Terry S. Griffin, Biglerville, graduates with a 4.0 grade point average in May with an associate degree in business administration. She plans to study for bachelor's degree in accounting at Shippensburg University, eventually pursuing a career in accounting, marketing, or sales. Active at HACC's Gettysburg Campus, Griffin is chairs the Campus Calling committee for HACC'sAlpha Nu Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, editor of the Writebreaks Writer's Club, a member of the Campus Arts committee, a peer tutor and mentor, and a student library assistant. She was named Outstanding Career Program Graduate and has been invited to read her original poetry at the Carlisle Poets Poetry Reading. Griffin is the secretary of the Biglerville BandBoosters and is a member of the Upper Adams Lions Club and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Amanda A. Swope, New Oxford, will graduate later this summer an associate's degree in art. She also earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average and plans to transfer to Shippensburg University. She hopes to complete a bachelor's degree in elementary education. Her goal is to become an exceptional middle school teacher with a master's degree. Amanda is a member of the Alpha Nu Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, was named to the College Board's Talent Roster of Outstanding Transfer Students, and is a peer tutor. Community activities for Swope include volunteering as a teacher aid at a local public school and at Rebert's Retirement Home.
Lancaster Campus
Anne K. Allgyer, Leola, graduates in May associate's degree in social sciences, earning a 4.0 grade point average. She plans to pursue her bachelor's degree in psychology at Millersville University. Her goal is to counsel and facilitate healing of adults from the effects of dysfunctional families. Allgyer was named to the Talent Roster of Outstanding Students, and she is a member of HACC's Alpha Nu Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. Allgyer is an English tutor, serves as treasurer of the Association for Non-Traditional Students, and is active in her church.
Denise Vega, Lancaster, graduates in May with an associate degree in Liberal Arts: Communication and Arts. She plans to pursue her bachelor's degree in education at Millersville University and then to teach high school or college comparative literature. She was named to the National Dean's List, is president of the Student Advisory Council at HACC's Lancaster Campus, president of Voices: Literary and Arts Club, and is a member of the Association for Non-Traditional Students and CALOR (the Lancaster Campus Latino Club). In addition to assisting with numerous charity fundraisers, she volunteers at the Domestic Women's Clinic, Milagro House, and the Bridge of Hope women's shelters.
Lebanon Campus
Maria L. Emerich, Lebanon, graduates in May with an associate's degree in arts and plans to pursue her bachelor's degree in Music Business at Lebanon Valley College. Emerich would like to pursue a career in the music business industry. Named to the National Dean's List, Emerich is also a member of HACC's Alpha Nu Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, serves on the Student Recognition committee, and instructs aerobics classes. In addition to her love of music, she enjoys volunteering and teaching the "Step N Sculpt" fitness class at the Lebanon YMCA, volunteering at a local nursing home, and serving as a guest musician at Lebanon Valley College.
Ruslan V. Nikitin, Lebanon, graduates in May with an associate's degree in liberal arts/social sciences. While he has not finalized his decision where to transfer for his bachelor's degree, Nikitin plans to pursue international studies and possible work for an international organization which deals with global education. Nikitin was named to the National Dean's List, is a member of the Alpha Nu Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa; serves as a freshman senator of the Student Advisory Council at HACC's Lebanon Campus, contributes and edits the campus newspaper, Phoenix; and contributes to the Campus Literary Journal. In his spare time, he assists local middle school teachers with their work and volunteers at the Lebanon Community Library.
