Gettysburg Campus of HACC will offer computer classes in Word

The Gettysburg Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) will offer basic and intermediate Word classes this spring.

Beginning March 16, Word 1 and Word 2 will be offered in several different day and evening sessions. Daytime and evening classes will be held at the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg. Evening classes also will be held at Emory H. Markle Intermediate School, 325 Bowman Road, Hanover.

March and April class start dates can be found in HACC's Spring 2004 Noncredit Course Schedule available at the Web site below.

Word 1 teaches basic word-processing functions such as creating, saving and printing documents, envelopes and labels. Students will learn to format text and paragraphs; cut and paste text; set margins, indents and tabs; and find and replace text.

They will also learn to use Word's proofing tools and templates. Windows Introduction or similar experience is a prerequisite.

Word 2 covers intermediate skills such as creating and formatting tables, inserting section breaks, and working with multiple columns. Students will learn to create headers and footers, and to effectively use styles. Class also includes the use of graphics, charts and diagrams.

MS Word Part 1 or similar experience is a prerequisite.
