Workforce and Economic Development in Central PA
HACC campuses offer workforce training in computer skills, information technology certifications, technical trades and technologies, management and professional development, entrepreneurial development, and public safety professions such as fire, police, healthcare, EMS, and nurse aide. Training is offered on campus, online, at various sites throughout HACC's service areas, or on-site at the clients' facilities.

The statewide WEDnetPA initiative
The Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) is committed to making companies across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania more competitive - by updating and improving the skills of their employees to meet specific company needs.

The progressive Guaranteed Free Training Program, offered through WEDnetPA and funded by the Department of Community and Economic Development, provides qualified companies with money for training in a wide range of basic and high-tech topics.

HACC offers one of the highest-enrolled WEDnetPA programs in the state - serving local business and industry with training in computer skills, technical trades, office and management skills, and information technology.

HACC's Lancaster Campus Workforce and Economic Development division continues to allign its training programs to support the need for careers listed among the Lancaster Workforce Investment Board's top 25 "gold collar" jobs.

Tuition Assistance for Displaced Workers
Enables displaced workers to register on a space-available basis. In the first year of the program, HACC assisted more than 200 unemployed people. Most came back to school to update their job skills, improve their resumes, and successfully reenter the local workforce. This initiative has been continued at the College in to 2004.

PC Loan Program
Students who can't afford to buy their own computers are able to borrow a computer with Internet access and printer as long as they are in good academic standing.

HACC's partnerships with area four-year colleges
Direct transfer agreements with colleges such as Wilson College and Dusquene University.
Dual Admission agreements with colleges such as Elizabethtown College, which includes an enhanced accelerated degree program for adult learners. Also Drexel University, where HACC students may now earn their four-year degree in behavioral and addictions counseling.
