Lancaster Campus of HACC will offer Understandingthe Adult Learner workshop

March 3, 2004
The Lancaster Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) will offer a new workshop, Understanding the Adult Learner.

It will be held at the Lancaster Campus of HACC located at 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike, Tuesday, March 9 from 8 -11 a.m.

The workshop is designed for those with organizational training responsibility and will review the issues relating to successfully teaching the adult learner.

"Adult learners have unique needs and learning styles based on what they bring to the classroom," said instructor Tracy Fisher. "Those responsible for teaching them need to adapt traditional teaching styles to these unique needs to help the adult learner be successful."

Fisher has directed HACC's workforce and continuing education efforts for the past five years. She has a master's degree in education from Penn State and currently is a doctoral candidate at Penn State.
