  • Architect: L. Robert Kimball and Associates, Harrisburg, PA

  • Facilities included:

  • 1. Specialized Nursing Laboratory Space for paramedic training, including real-life scenarios for home or at-work emergencies, cardiovascular technology, medical assisting as well as nursing. Complete with 20 bed-units, high-technology mannequins that can simulate multiple symptoms, observation area and exam room.



    2. Microbiology Lab
    State-of-the-art lab features a sterile hood for handling of biohazardous materials and creating a sterile environment.


    3. Biotechnology Lab
    Also features a sterile hood for allied health programs as well as HACC's nanofabrication program in the Business, Engineering and Technology Division


    4. Dental Hygiene Clinic
    Designed to function as a professional dentistry office. Features 20 chairs, group instruction area, six X-ray areas, a darkroom, sterilization area for instruments and locker room. The building's entrance is designed for easy public access to clinic. All aspects of dental office operations are performed here.


    5. Respiratory Therapy Clinic
    Two bed units, air/oxygen and vacuum capabilities and exam room.

  • Groundbreaking Expected: June 3, 2004
  • Scheduled Completion Date: Fall Semester 2005

  • Special Features: Building is designed to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. Developed by the USGBC membership, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED") Green Building Rating System is a national consensus-based, market-driven building rating system designed to accelerate the development and implementation of green building practices. In short, it is a leading-edge system for designing, constructing and certifying the world's greenest and best buildings. The Select Medical Health Education Pavilion is expected to earn a Gold rating.
