Gettysburg Campus of HACC will offer Adult Living and Learning Seminars

The Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has planned a day of Adult Living and Learning Seminars perfect for a fall getaway.

The Adult Living and Learning Seminars will be held at the HACC Campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, on Monday, Oct. 10. The day will start with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. and includes three 1-1/2-hour sessions and buffet luncheon, concluding at 2 p.m. Cost is $45. Registration deadline is Oct. 6.

The event is open to adults of all ages. Each of the three sessions includes 10 course offerings. Those registering select a first and second choice for each session.

Session One from 8:30-10 a.m. includes seminars on the following topics: Long Term Care - Will You Need It?, Introduction to Native American Spirituality, History of Halloween, Washington and His Majesty's Most Secret Service, Internet Fraud and Lottery Scams, German Christmas Traditions in America, 225 Years of Menallen Friends, Stop the Ticking Time Bomb - Prevent Heart Disease, Christmas Painted Pots, and A Musical Journal: The Middle Ages and Renaissance.

Session Two from 10:15-11:45 a.m. includes seminars on the following topics: Long Term Care - Will You Need It?, Medicine Wheel Basics, Ghosts & Other Paranormal Phenomenon, The Enigmatic Mr. Jefferson, Refuse to be a Victim, The Woodworkers of Seiffen: Home of the Nutcracker, The First to Fall at Gettysburg: George Washington Sandoe, Christmas Painted Pots, Create Your Own Greeting Cards using Your Computer, and a Musical Journey: Baroque and Classical.

Session Three from 12:30-2 p.m. includes seminars on the following topics: Long Term Care - Will You Need It?, Animals as Totems and Teachers, Aliens, Rebels in the Land: The Whiskey Rebellion of 1794, Internet Fraud and Lottery Scams, German Glass Ornaments: From 1880 to Now, Black History of Upper Adams County, Christmas Painted Pots, Create Your Own Greeting Cards using Your Computer, and A Musical Journey: Romantic and Twentieth Century.
