HACC-Gettysburg Announces New Faculty Appointments

HACC-Gettysburg Campus has announced the addition of three full-time faculty members this fall. The faculty appointments were announced by Shannon Harvey, associate dean of academic affairs.

David Bailey, assistant professor, psychology, has an M.S. in psychology from Shippensburg University. He served for six years as a psychological services specialist with the State Correctional Institute at Camp Hill, PA, and he has additional clinical experience as a child care specialist, certified addiction counselor, drug and alcohol treatment specialist, and mental health technician. He has also taught college level courses in psychology and criminal justice at HACC's campuses in Harrisburg and Lebanon.

Cristal Renzo, instructor of English, has been an adjunct instructor of English since 1998 at HACC's Harrisburg Campus, where she also served as a professional writing tutor and faculty advisor to the literary magazine. She has also been a communications specialist with the Capital Blue Cross Employee Development Unit in Harrisburg, and an adjunct instructor in English at Elizabethtown College and Lebanon Valley College. She has an M.A. in English from West Chester University.

Diana Peslis, instructor of nursing, has a BSN from Messiah College and is completing credits for the MSN family nurse practitioner program at Millersville University. Most recently, she was employed in the medical surgical intensive care unit at Pinnacle Health Hospital in Harrisburg and as an adjunct instructor in clinical nursing at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC.

HACC-Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has enrolled more than 1400 students at the Gettysburg Campus for the fall 2005 semester. "It is exciting that we can continue to add full-time faculty as our campus grows," said Harvey. "This strengthens our programs and courses which, in turn, makes it possible to provide more opportunities to our students and our community." There are currently 12 full-time faculty members and 113 part-time adjunct instructors who teach at the campus.
