HACC's York Center Plans Info Night; Expects 75 or More Students Interested in Day Classes

March 21, 2005
HACC's new center in York is gearing up for its first day classes with a special information night Tuesday, March 22nd at West York High School.

"We're getting lot's of questions about our new location and our day classes," said Jean Treuthart, director of the York Center. "This is a great way to answer the most common questions and give people a chance to meet our staff."

In addition to the overall presentation, participants will have a chance to fill out all the necessary forms, meet with a counselor and even schedule placement tests.

"We're working hard to make the whole admissions process as easy as possible," Treuthart said. "We already have more than 600 students in York County and we're looking forward to a whole new group of students as we add day classes."

Truethart said that construction is scheduled to begin soon on a 40 thousand square foot portion of 2010 Pennsylvania Avenue. That space will include 10 general classrooms, science, allied health and computer labs as well as a bookstore. The new center will accommodate up to a thousand students.

"We also have additional space available in the building and the center could expand to handle as many as three thousand students at the site," she said.

Students who are interested in learning more about the HACC's York Center can contact the information office at 718-0328. Seating is limited at the information session, so a call ahead to reserve a seat is recommended.
