Lancaster Campus to hold free financial aid sessions in English and Spanish for college bound students

HACC, central Pennsylvania's community college, will hold two informal sessions at its Lancaster Campus on understanding the financial aid process for anyone planning to further his or her education.

The first session, offered in English and Spanish, is scheduled for Thursday, March 10. The second session, offered in English only, is scheduled for Thursday, March 17. Both sessions will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 227, in the main building, on the Lancaster Campus, which is conveniently located off the Old Philadelphia Pike Exit of Route 30.

Open to all students and their parents, the sessions will cover a range of topics, from applying for financial aid to the different kinds of aid available. Counselors will be on hand to provide tips for completing the required 2005-2006 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

Participants are asked to bring the following to the workshop (The same documentation is required for parents, if the student applying is less than 24 years old.):

  • A completed 2004 Federal Income Tax Return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ)
  • W-2 Forms and other records of money earned in 2004
  • Records of 2004 untaxed income, such as Social Security Benefits, Workers' Compensation or Welfare
  • Black pen
