President of HACC is awarded Harrisburg IABC Communicator of the Year Award

Dr. Edna Baehre, president of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, was recently named "Communicator of the Year" by the Harrisburg Chapter of the International Assocation of Business Communicators. The Communicator of the Year award recognizes non-communications professionals who exemplify the best communications practices in their professional lives.

Baehre was cited for her work for helping HACC to grow to record enrollments and expand it's coverage area. The group noted that her communications skills were key to dealing with diverse audiences including students, faculty, the business community and local and state sponsors.

IABC/Harrisburg is an organization of communications professionals dedicated to the education and professional development of its members, networking among fellow professionals, and the advancement of the communication profession. HACC is Pennsylvania's oldest community college and has nearly 17 thousand degree-seeking students and more than 50 thousand participants in workforce training and continuing education programs. The college operates five major locations in Harrisburg, Lancaster, Gettysburg, Lebanon and York and covers a 10 county region in Central Pennsylvania.
