Registration still open for HACC Gettysburg students in Hanover

Sept. 1, 2005
Next week marks the start of a new initiative in Hanover by the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. For the first time, both evening and daytime courses will be available in Hanover. Students start class on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

"To date there are over 250 enrollments in the Hanover classes, and there is still time to register," said Jennifer Weaver, dean, Gettysburg Campus of HACC. "HACC expresses appreciation to Southwestern School District and Hanover Hospital for use of their excellent facilities for daytime and evening college classes."

Daytime classes will be held at Hanover Hospital Community Health and Education Center. Students will be taking many core courses including English, math, business, biology, geography, economics, psychology, philosophy and physical education.

Evening classes will be held at South Western High School. They include biology, accounting, chemistry, Spanish, math, history, sociology and theatre.

HACC serves nearly 15 thousand degree-seeking students in a 10-county region in Central Pennsylvania. The college also serves more than 50 thousand students in its workforce development and community education programs.

In addition to the Gettysburg Campus, the college also operates campuses in Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Lebanon, as well as a new HACC Center in York and a number of off-campus community sites.

As Central Pennsylvania's Community College, HACC provides degree and diploma programs in more than 154 fields. Students also continue to increase usage of online classes with HACC's Virtual Campus, and many combine in-class work with online coursework.
