Jan. 11, 2005
Whether you need to fulfill a general education requirements for your degree or perhaps as a teacher you are looking to fulfill Act 48 continuing education requirements, there is still time to register for courses at several of HACC's off-campus sites.

Central Pennsylvania's community college has seats available at sites in both the Carlisle and Harrisburg areas, where classes do not begin until January 21.

Class locations and courses include:

Carlisle Intermediate High School
General Psychology
Creative Writing I
English Comp II

Carlisle Barracks
College Algebra
History: United States II

Murata Business Center, Carlisle
Intro to Software for Business PowerPoint (February 21 start date)

Tech Port Business Center, Harrisburg
Intro to Theater
College Algebra
College Math for Business

Many of the courses offered are good options for teachers looking to fulfill Act 48 requirements, according to Cathy Lencioni, HACC's curriculum coordinator.

"HACC is an approved provider for Act 48 courses," she said. "All teachers need to complete 180 hours of continuing education within a five year time frame to maintain their Pennsylvania certification. Many of these courses would be a good match for enhancing their teaching skills."

Registration for any of the classes is available online at www.hacc.edu or by visiting the Registrar's Office at HACC's Harrisburg Campus. For more information, contact Cathy Lencioni at HACC at (717) 780-2311 or calencio@hacc.edu.
