HACC Health Fair provides free screenings for the public

April 26, 2006
Periodic health screenings help you stay at your physical best and perhaps catch early signs of developing health issues. You can have a number of free screenings along with information from health agencies at a Health Fair at HACC's Lancaster Campus.

Free screenings are a visual field screening, that can detect glaucoma, cataracts or other visual concern or problem, screening for high blood pressure and diabetes.

The college's annual Health Fair is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, in room 203 (multipurpose room) of the East Building. The Lancaster Campus is located on 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike off Route 30 in Lancaster.

In addition to the free screenings for the public, the Health Fair participants in this year's health fair include Arthritis Foundation, Southeast Lancaster Health Clinic, American Lung Association, Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Nuestra Clinica, Herbal Life International and Susquehanna Association for the Blind, who are performing the visual field screening. Blood pressure monitoring will be done by HACC's practical nursing students and HACC nursing students will perform the diabetes screenings.
