Dr. Maneval of Lancaster Campus of HACC honored with award and board spot

May 15, 2007
Dr. Rhonda Maneval, director of nursing and interim assistant dean at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, has been honored with an international award and a spot on a nursing board.

Maneval, a Mechanicsburg resident, received The Chair Academy's 2007 International Exemplary Leader Award at the Academy's Sixteenth Annual International Conference for chairs, deans and other organizational leaders. The conference was held in Jacksonville, Florida.

The award represents a leader who has modeled best practices in leadership in order to advance academic and administrative leadership. She was nominated by one of her peers, Jennifer Weaver, dean, Gettysburg Campus of HACC.

The Chair Academy is an organization dedicated to advancing academic and administrative leadership for post-secondary institutions worldwide by designing and promoting world-class training programs and services.

Maneval also was named recently to the board of trustees of the Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania organization, a statewide, non-profit foundation created to help recruit and retain nursing professionals. It is governed by a 24-member board of trustees, consisting of individuals who are leaders in nursing, business, industry, and other health care fields. The foundation has established a scholarship fund and an awards program.
