May 16, 2007
A visit to the National Museum of the Marine Corps, free time to enjoy the Mall, the Smithsonian Institute and other attractions in Washington, D.C., and dinner overlooking the Potomac River in Georgetown offer all the ingredients for a perfect June day trip offered by the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

A bus departs the Lancaster Campus of HACC Saturday, June 9, at 5:30 a.m., then the Harrisburg Campus of HACC at 6:30 a.m. for Quantico, VA, and the National Museum of the Marine Corps with a quick breakfast on the way.

Trip participants will have three hours to explore the museum and grounds symbolized with a 210-foot stainless steel spire emulating the image of the raising of the American flag on Iwo Jima.

The group then will be given several hours to explore the Smithsonian Institute and other attractions, with suggestions given by popular HACC instructor and tour guide Donald G. Koones.

Cost of $110 includes bus, guide and dinner.

This is just one of many community education offerings available along with registration in HACC's "Opportunities to Enrich your Personal & Professional Life," a schedule of noncredit classes accessible at www.hacc.edu/noncredit.
