HARRISBURG – HACC’s Get It Started open house Oct. 18 provides an opportunity for prospective students to explore their options when it comes to a post-secondary education. At Cooper Student Center on the Harrisburg Campus, One HACC Drive, visitors can also tour the buildings and see live demonstrations in culinary arts, automotive, pottery and more.

HACC’s Midtown site, 1500 N. Third St., is where the college offers trade and technical education. Faculty and staff will offer tours and demonstrations in the areas of electronics, computer networking technology, geospatial technology, Web development and design, HVAC among others.

At both locations staff can offer guidance about career options, how HACC credits transfer to four-year schools, provide information abut financial aid and scholarships, student clubs and athletics and how to enroll.

Visitors also can join in the 20th anniversary celebration of the Sen. John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center. The public is invited to participate in the free festivities and demonstrations from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at HACC’s 12-acre complex of police, fire and EMS training facilities at Entrance 5 (North Hall) on the Harrisburg Campus.
