HARRISBURG – Area residents are invited to a dinner and silent auction to benefit the American Foundation for Children with AIDS at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the C. Ted Lick Wildwood Conference Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. The event is sponsored by Alpha Nu Omega, the HACC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society for community college students.
Tanya Weaver, executive director for AFCA, will lead an informal discussion about the efforts of the AFCA and the foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Students and faculty in HACC’s ceramics and glass programs donated pottery, glassware and jewelry for the silent auction.
The cost for the benefit is $150. Those who would like to support the AFCA mission and enjoy an evening of fine dining should send an e-mail request for an invitation to Susan Lyddy, president of HACC’s PTK chapter (Alpha Nu Omega) at anoprez@gmail.com. A number of discounted tickets are available to students. Contact Lyddy for more information.
