HACC Lancaster event will help students get started on career path

March 13, 2008
Students of all ages interested in starting their college career are invited to an open house at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

"Get It Started" is a continuous session from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in Community Room 222 in the Main Building of the campus at 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.

"We hold this annual event to help high school seniors and juniors who are in the process of making decisions about their career paths," said Alicia Laughman, enrollment management coordinator. "But, really, it is helpful for anyone who is considering furthering his or her education and needs help with how to get started."

During the event, participants will learn about the college's academic programs, admissions policies, financial aid and support services. They also can attend one of three breakout sessions:

  • Careers in healthcare;
  • Career paths that lead to a diploma, certificate or associate degree; or
  • Transfer and dual admission partnerships for students considering a bachelor's degree.

Tours of the campus also will be given.
