Lancaster Campus offers free screenings at Health Fair

Body fat analysis is among the free screenings offered to the public during the annual Health Fair at the Lancaster Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College.

Ruthann McGinley of HACC's Nutrition Department will be on hand to do body fat analysis - comparing a healthy body mass composition to body fat ratio - during the fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, April 14, in Rooms 222A and 222B in the Main Building of the campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike. No advance registration is necessary to attend.

Also included in the screenings available at no charge to all who attend are:

  • Blood pressure screenings will be provided by HACC-Lancaster nursing students and bone density screenings will be provided by HACC-Lancaster radiologic technology students and Lancaster Regional Hospital.
  • Titmus Vision Screener provided by Rose Nightingale, Low Vision and Educational Coordinator for the Susquehanna Association for the Blind and Vision Impaired.
  • Cancer risk assessment and facial dermascan provided by Michelle M. Moore, coordinator, Central Pennsylvania Oncology Group at Hershey Medical Center.

Also participating are representatives from Mental Health Associates, the Arthritis Foundation, Nuestra Clinica, Alliance for Affordable Services, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, Capital Blue Cross, Domestic Violence Services and Planned Parenthood of the Susquehanna Valley.
