LANCASTER - For the first time Lancaster Campus of HACC and the Lancaster County Human Relations Commission are joining forces to present this Sept. 13 CommUnity Family Fest. Craftsmen and other vendors are invited to participate in the family-oriented event.

“The combined effort with the Human Relations Commission will bring even more community involvement than before,” said Jennifer Alleman, a professor of counseling at HACC’s Lancaster Campus and co-organizer of the event. “They were planning a similar event on the same date and it made a lot of sense to join together and create one bigger and better community festival for the families and residents of Lancaster County.”

 The CommUnity Family Fest is scheduled rain or shine 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, in and around the parking lot of the main building of HACC’s Lancaster Campus. Vendors and craftsmen can have the use of two parking spaces for $35.

Contact the Lancaster Campus at 358-2290 to request an information packet. The reservation deadline is Aug. 15 - availability of spaces may be limited after that date.

“This again will be a great opportunity to bring Lancaster County residents and our First Responders together for a wonderful day of music, fun and better understanding,” said co-organizer Jonathan Fox of the Human Relations Commission.

A new event this year includes a First Responders Chili Cook-off. Returning will be the popular music and storytelling of the award-winning Steven Courtney along with children’s events and games, the chicken barbeque and more food selections.

The CommUnity Family Fest brings county residents to the college for a family friendly event that offers an awareness of the higher education, public safety and social services available in the Lancaster area.
