Featured Craftsman of the Month: Helen Tegeler of Reading: Glass
  • April 1-30
    Helen Tegeler is a glass instructor at HACC. An open house for the April Featured Artist is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 4.

Radius Showcase Series:
Ukrainian craft of egg decorating - Pysanky
  • Through April 30
    Pysanky is Ukrainian egg decorating with a wax-resist (batik) method.
  •  1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 18
    Pysanky egg demonstration by HACC Instructor Pat Frese.
  • Next Showcase Series in May/June: Crafting Critters, featuring the work of craftsmen who incorporate whimsical animals and creatures in their work.
The deadline for state craftsmen to submit items for the May/June Crafting Critters showcase is April 18.
 
Artists are limited to four entries, submitted either by e-mail or on a disk and sent in postal mail. There is no fee to enter; all work chosen for the showcase must be available for sale on consignment.
 
Artists whose work is chosen are responsible for delivery and return of their work.

Radius, on the ground floor of the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Third and North streets, is a partnership between HACC and the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission. The gallery and museum shop carries the work of more than 60 craftsmen, including HACC students, members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and other talented artists from around the state.
