1-31                 Radius Featured Craftsman – Glass artisan Gary Guydosh of Pittsburgh at Radius, HACC Gallery and Museum Shop in The State Museum.

                        Born west of Steubenville, Ohio, he received his formal glassblowing training starting in 1998 at Bowling Green State University. Guydosh now takes time each year to study with Italian glass masters in Murano, Italy and reflects the Venetian flair in his work. Before becoming a glassblower, Guydosh was a journalism/public relations photographer for 14 years.

Oct. 18            Open house and demonstration for October Featured Craftsman Gary Guydosh at Radius, HACC Gallery and Museum Shop in The State Museum. Guydosh demonstrates glass blowing techniques from 1-3 p.m.

                             Radius, on the ground floor of the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Third and North streets, is a partnership between HACC and the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission. The gallery and museum shop carries the work of more than 60 craftsmen, including HACC students, members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and other talented artists from around the state.

Oct. 11            Radius Showcase Series – Cup o’ Joe – Ceramic mug demonstration by artist Kathy O’Neal from 1-3 p.m. at Radius, HACC Gallery and Museum Shop in The State Museum. The Cup o’Joe showcase of hand made mugs by Pennsylvania artisans continues until Oct. 31.

Oct. 18            Deadline for entries: next Radius Showcase Series – Deck the Halls: Handmade Ornaments. Pennsylvania artisans are invited to submit their crafted holiday ornaments to the Showcase Series at Radius, at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, which will run this November and December.

                            The deadline to submit digital entries is Sunday, Oct. 18. Artists are limited to four entries, submitted either by e-mail or on a disk and sent in postal mail. There is no fee to enter; all work chosen for the showcase must be available for sale on consignment. Artists whose work is chosen are responsible for delivery and return of their work.
