HACC hosts book signing with visiting Fulbright Scholar and author Dr. Egara Kabaji

WHO:
Fulbright Scholar Egara Kabaji, Ph.D., HACC honors program faculty, staff and students of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
WHAT:
Book signing event. Kabaji is the author of numerous children’s books about his native Kenya, including an award-winning young adult novel based on the life of Jomo Kenyatta, the first president of free Kenya.
 
Many of his books are retellings of traditional stories and folktales which Dr Kabaji has specifically selected to help children learn and understand the traditional values and traditions of the people of Kenya.
WHEN:
10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, April 8.
WHERE:
Rose Lehrman Arts Center room 121 on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, One HACC Drive.
COVERAGE:
HACC has the rare opportunity among community colleges of hosting a Fulbright Scholar. Students gain the appreciation and knowledge for other cultures first hand with an international and highly regarded scholar such as Kabaji. His visit also provides a lasting contribution to HACC’s international programs and curriculum development.
Kabaji has visited HACC’s regional campuses, teaching classes, sharing his international perspecitves and holding lectures open to local residents.
